Experienced Government Investigations and Trial Lawyer, Joseph W. Martini, Joins Connecticut’s Spears Manning LLC
Southport, CT, October 3, 2018 –The law firm of Spears Manning LLC, a white collar defense and litigation boutique, announces that veteran lawyer, Joseph W. Martini, has joined the firm as a partner. Prior to Spears Manning, Martini spent 11 years as a partner at one of Connecticut’s largest law firms, where he chaired the white collar practice group and served on the firm’s executive committee. Before that, Martini spent almost a decade serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in Connecticut.
Martini has more than 30 years of experience representing corporate executives, government officials, major national and international public companies, prominent privately held entities, and individuals in sophisticated criminal and civil matters involving the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Offices throughout the United States, the Connecticut State’s Attorney and Attorney General and the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as other federal and state regulators, such as the CFTC, FINRA, FAA, OSHA and the Connecticut Department of Banking.
Entities facing crisis situations often retain Martini to conduct internal investigations, and he has years of experience conducting investigations in the financial, health care, manufacturing, construction and defense industries. He has experience in matters involving the United Nations, and before hospital boards of directors and hearing panels in connection with disciplinary and other administrative proceedings. He has also conducted sexual assault and abuse investigations, including Title IX investigations, and defending matters brought by the U.S. Department of Education.
Martini is a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers and is individually listed in Chambers USA in the category of Litigation: White Collar Crime and Government Investigations. Martini is also included in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of White Collar Criminal Defense.
